Question of the Week

Hard print (real thing) or Kindle/Nook, which is your favorite? -
Suggested byThe Realm of Books

Personally, I love both equally - but for very different reasons. Actual real books are wonderful; there's just something special about going out, browsing shelves at a bookstore, and bringing a book home. I love being able to hold a book, to physically turn the pages, and actually see how much progress I'm making.
I also love being able to read books on my iPad. To be honest, the Kobo app was (and still is) my saviour when it comes to reading. I suffer from an illness that, at times, messes around with my reading ability and I suffer from mild dyslexia. What I love about reading with a tablet is that I can adjust the screen brightness and colour, and increase the size of the font to something that is clearer for me to make out - something that, of course, you can't do with a physical book. I also love that eReaders make reading more than one book at a time so easy and portable, and that if you want a book right this second, you can get it instantly - there's no waiting when it comes to delivery.

  3. Sometimes it comes down to what is more comfortable to read. Because reading is the main purpose.

I love physical books, always will be my first choice if possible. But my Kindle is convenient, holds tons of books that go everywhere with me and of course for NetGalley offerings. So it's both ways for me.

  4. This is why I love my Kindle (+ cheaper price) even though I prefer real books!

  5. I find it a lot easier to read on my Kindle and often times I find myself reaching more for it, than I do for my physical books. But, then there are those moments, where I just really want to connect with a physical books, hold it in my hands, turn it over, sniff it (yes, I do this!), and love it as I turn the pages and enjoy every word the story has to tell me.

Okay, now that I've waxed poetics, lol. it's time to get down to the real nitty gritty, I love them both. I just simply cannot deny it! :)

New follower for your lovely blog.

Happy Reading and Hopping Through! :)

  7. Aw, I'm so glad that the Kobo app has done wonders for you! There definitely is something about a physical book, but when it comes to reading, I actually prefer my Kindle! It prevents a lot of book clutter in my home. (:

  10. Yes! I also like how easy it is to able to manipulate the colour, sizes and fonts of the ebook in an app. It does helps a lot when my eyes are tired from reading for so long. Paperbacks does have its perks but ebooks are useful too.
I'm a new follower btw. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a great weekend!
    Cheers!

  11. Shopping for books has to be one of my favorite things to shop for. This says a lot since I'm obsessed with shoes and purses too! I'll never stop buying books, despite my e-reader and my love for it.

I see you're reading All The Bright Places. How do you like it? I'm planning on starting it soon!

    1. I'm the same! Shopping in general is one of my favourite hobbies, but shopping specifically for books is one of the best things :)

Unfortunately I'm not enjoying All the Bright Places as much as I thought I would; it's not really doing anything for me so far and feels no different or more special than most other YA contemporaries I've read. I still have about 200 pages left, though, so I'm hoping something great will happen between now and then that will get me onboard with the ATBP love.
